The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) is proud to announce it has won four awards from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASPHE) for excellence in content and design. HemAware won a Gold Award for Best Custom Publication (for the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2011 issues); a Silver Award for Best Cover Photo (Spring 2011); and two Bronze Awards for Best Opening Page/Spread: Photo, for “Battling Bullies” (Spring 2011) and Best Digital/Print Integration for HemAware and HemAware.org. The ASHPE awards recognize editorial innovation in print and online healthcare publications.

HemAware was also recognized for its editorial excellence, receiving two Eddie Awards from Folio magazine. It won a Bronze Award for the Spring 2011 cover story, “Growing Older Proactively” (Spring 2011), and the magazine as a whole won a Silver Award in the Association/Non-Profit publication category.

“At NHF, we are constantly striving to bring the most compelling information on bleeding disorders to our community,” says John Indence, NHF vice president of marketing and communications. “When organizations such as ASHPE and Folio recognize us, it shows that we can achieve standards that make HemAware appealing to an even larger audience.”
